The “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” Season 5 viewers recently witnessed a very intense moment between Mary Cosby and Robert Jr., when she had a real conversation with her son about his substance abuse for a very long time. Her frustration with her son’s situation was noticeable and was affecting her friendship as well.

However, Mary recently shared an update on the subject Robert Jr claiming that he is now in a better place and is constantly working on himself. He is stable and trying to feel even better, living with his beloved mother in their home in Salt Lake City. Robert Jr. admitted to using Xanax during the latest episode of the Bravo show. He also seemed to be high when the camera was rolling.

He became vulnerable with substance abuse and claimed it started with sticking to natural substances, which soon changed when someone gave him Xanax at a party. He recalls: “I started buying it. Then I started taking Xanax with acid and then Molly with Xanax. I really like Xanax, so I mix it with everything. Xanax and cocaine.” He also reflected on his turning point when he started taking 10 doses of regular 30 mg Oxys and still felt nothing.

Mary Cosby’s son Robert Jr. is opening up about his struggles with mental health

‘RHOSLC’ Star Robert Jr he recently opened up about his mental health issues after admitting to substance abuse. Mary Cosby was concerned about her son and asked if he was “miserable” when he stated he was taking Adderall to relax and then Xanax to balance it out. However, Robert Jr explained that sometimes he feels like “life is just unseasoned chicken.” He revealed that he had been struggling since the age of 16, and also noted that when he was high, he felt like it spiced him up.

The mother-son duo burst into tears, trying to express their care and concern for each other. Robert Jr also admitted that at one point in his life he “wanted to die” and Mary was the “only reason” he didn’t commit suicide. He added: “I just felt like a blur. I just felt like this world wasn’t for me.”

‘RHOSLC’ Star Mary Cosby Blames herself for Robert Jr.’s struggles

‘RHOSLC’ Star Mary Cosby she was disappointed with herself for not giving priority to her son Robert Jr. She referred to his academic success until graduation and called him a “perfect” child. She also claimed that when Robert decided to do something, he did it. She added: “He was like our reward. Very smart, very advanced. This is the Robert I know. That’s Robert who I’m trying to reach.”

However, everything had changed and Mary felt like she had let him down somewhere. She thought her son only used marijuana and trusted him to stop. However, Well done, star of the show was clearly wrong and definitely off the mark.
