Maharashtra Election 2024 Live Updates: In Second List of 20, Shiv Sena Picks Deora, Nirupam and Former Netas BJP

The Shiv Sena on Sunday released its second list of 20 candidates, including former Congress members Milind Deora (Worli) and Sanjay Nirupam (Dindoshi), taking the number of nominees to 65, reports Chaitanya Marpakwar. The list includes several former BJP Nets. The party resigned from Palghar MLA Srinivas Wanaga – the only one who was removed without accommodating a family member among the 41 family members of Sena MLAs – while the seats were given to a sitting RS MP and two sitting MLCs.
In Mumbai, the list includes former BJP corporator Murji Patel from Andheri East, former MLA Tukaram Kathe from Chembur, former corporator Suvarna Karanje from Vikhroli and former BJP neta Nilesh Rane from Kudal. Instead of Wanaga, former MP Rajendra Gavit received the Palghar seat. The Sena repeated its three remaining MLAs in the MMR – Vishwanath Bhoir from Kalyan (K), Shantaram More from Bhiwandi Rural and Balaji Kinikar from Ambernath. From Boisar, Sena called the BJP neta Vilas Tare. In Bhiwandi, East Sena fielded former BJP neta Santosh Shetty, who joined the party on Friday.
