One person was taken to hospital after firefighters cut off the roof of a car following a head-on collision

The accident occurred near Rowton on the A458 between Shrewsbury and Halfway House yesterday shortly before 6pm and involved two vehicles.

The road was closed as a result of the incident and the latest information from Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service said the accident involved a “head-on collision between two vehicles”.

It added that firefighters from two units helped a person trapped in one of the vehicles and also cut off the roof to help him get out.

This morning, West Mercia Police said: ‘We were called to reports of a collision on the A458 near Rowton Castle at around 5.30pm yesterday (Thursday, November 28). One man was taken to hospital as a precaution.”
