1 dead, 1 injured in northeast Portland crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – One person was killed and another was injured in a two-car crash in Northeast Portland early Monday morning.

Around 6:40 a.m., officers were called to a crash near Northeast Halsey Street and Northeast 118th Avenue. Officers arrived at the scene and found one person dead. The name of the deceased person has not yet been released.

The second person was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, a driver is wanted after fleeing following a crash in north Portland Saturday that involved a police car.

Northeast Halsey Street will be closed between Northeast 117th Avenue and Northeast 122nd Avenue while the Major Crash Team investigates.
