Mom killed in Grand Rapids triple shooting identified

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The mother who was killed last week in a shooting that also injured two of her sons has been identified.

Tracey Broyles, 55, has died shooting Thursday on Pastiche Drive just off Eastern Avenue in Grand Rapids.

She and her two adult sons were shot on October 24 before 7 p.m. Both men were taken to hospital but were expected to survive.

Chief Eric Winstrom told FOX 17 neighbors reported there was an altercation nearby. He also says there were multiple shell casings at the scene, indicating there may have been more than one gun involved in the shooting.

“I believe these individuals were targeted and that they were known to the perpetrator in this case,” Winstrom said. “It seems that when we have the full story, it will be one that should have ended in a shooting for no reason, much less a murder and multiple people being shot.”

So far, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting.

Anyone with information about this shooting is asked to call investigators at 616-456-3380 or The Silent Observer at 616-774-2345.
