Arrest in connection with the murder of a North Carolina woman found shot to death in her car in Woodbridge, Virginia.

A man has been arrested in connection with the murder of a woman found dead in her car in Woodbridge in February, according to the Prince William County Police Department.

On February 2, officers were called to the area of ​​Bronson Court and Brickwood Drive just after 2 a.m. when they found a 23-year-old woman with gunshot wounds in a vehicle. Emergency services called to the scene confirmed the woman’s death.

Authorities said the woman was later identified as Egypt Zapporah Carter of Burlington, North Carolina.

An investigation into the murder revealed that it was a contract murder intended to kill Carter. Detectives later learned that 27-year-old Drew Courtney Buchanan was allegedly involved in the fatal shooting.

Buchanan was arrested and charged with second-degree murder, shooting into an occupied vehicle and using a firearm in the commission of a crime. He is currently in custody without bail.

The department is currently searching for an additional suspect, identified as Denzel Scott Wade, 30. Police believe he was also involved in the murder along with Buchanan. The police have already issued an arrest warrant that will take him into custody.

Wade is described as a Black male with black hair and brown eyes. Police said he was 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed approximately 170 pounds.

The department is asking anyone with information on Wade’s whereabouts or anyone with information that could assist authorities in their investigation to contact police.
