Woman accused of having sex with student while teaching at St. Xavier: Prosecutor’s Office

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – According to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, a former employee of St. Xavier was accused of having sexual relations with a teenage student.

Prosecutors announced Monday that 42-year-old Emily Nutley has been charged with six counts of sexual battery.

Nutley was a teacher/instructor who oversaw a program to help struggling students at St. Xavier, the prosecutor’s office explained.

The teenage victim was assigned to the program and began working with Nutley on academic matters during the fall 2023 semester, according to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

Prosecutors said Nutley then began having additional contact with the student outside of school hours.

The Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office explained that a 42-year-old employee of St. Xavier sent the teenagers nude photos, text messages and sexually explicit messages.

Multiple encounters and sexual relations between Nutley and the teenager began in mid-November 2023, according to a Monday statement from the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office.

The prosecutor’s office explained that the sexual contacts occurred at least once on the campus of St. Xavier High School, including at the Nutley office and off school grounds.

According to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, the student attempted to stop the meetings, but Nutley continued to send text messages to the teenager.

An internal investigation conducted in St. Xavier High School led them to contact Springfield Township police, who launched their own investigation into the allegations.

Nutley was released by St. Xavier, school communications coordinator Britan Shriner told FOX19 NOW.

On Monday, St. High School Xavier released a statement saying the allegations against Nutley are an isolated incident:

We appreciate the unwavering commitment of our faculty, staff and administration to the safety, well-being and dignity of every student entrusted to our care. We believe this case is an isolated incident.
