Community leaders will host the largest career fair on Tuesday

COLORADO SPRINGS — On Tuesday, Oct. 29, community leaders from across Colorado Springs School District 11 will host an Apprenticeship Fair for high school students where they will be introduced to some of the industry’s most sought-after jobs.

It will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Roy J. Wasson Academic Campus on Afton Way in Colorado Springs.

D11 and community leaders have dedicated their efforts to providing apprenticeship opportunities to students in high-demand industries through partnerships with the Office of the Future of Work: Apprenticeship Colorado and the Colorado Department of Labor and Employment.

The goal is to continue “fueling the local economy and eliminating critical labor shortages” here in Colorado Springs.

So far, over 300 high school students will participate in the event and provide them with real-life examples from community leaders. You’ll have the opportunity to hear from leaders in the culinary, retail, automotive, healthcare and other high-demand industries.

For additional information about the event or to schedule interviews, please contact D11 Work-Based Learning Coordinator Melissa Smith at [email protected].
