Man in critical condition in Syracuse hospital after crash in Utica

Syracuse, N.Y. – A man is in critical condition at a Syracuse hospital after he was hit by a car in Utica, according to police.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Sunday at South and Genesee streets.

The man was found on the road with multiple injuries, said Lt. Michael Curley, a Utica police spokesman. He was first taken to Wynn Hospital in Utica and then flown to a hospital in the Syracuse area.

The vehicle that hit the man is believed to be a red or maroon sedan with front-end damage, Curley said.

Police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call 315-223-3510.
