A 33-year-old man died in a car accident in New London

NEW LONDON, Conn. (WFSB) – A 33-year-old man died Monday following a car accident that occurred two days earlier.

Police were called to the intersection of Colman Street and Broad Street at 11.49pm on Saturday to reports of a two-vehicle accident resulting in injuries.

Upon arrival, officers found several injured people.

Four people were transported to L+M Hospital for treatment.

One of the drivers, identified as Jason Poirier of New London, was later transferred to Yale New Haven Hospital due to the severity of his injuries.

On Monday, Poirier died from his injuries.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
