Tim Walz accused of driving the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official to the brink of suicide during an affair in the 1980s

Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz, while working as a teacher in Foshan, had an affair with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official that was so tempestuous that it drove her to the brink of suicide, The Post has learned.

In a telephone interview with The Post on Monday, Jenna Wang, 59, told The Post that she fell in love with the current Minnesota governor when he was a young high school English teacher in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China.

A new report says Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz had an affair with the daughter of a Chinese Communist Party official.
Wang expected their passionate 1989 romance to end with a proposal, but instead it led to a breakup that forced her to consider taking her own life.

“I felt deeply offended, hurt and had to leave the place because many people knew we were in a relationship,” Wang explained, saying Walz had implied he was going to marry her.

That included sending letters to Wang when she returned to the United States next summer and even asking for her passport-sized photo to be sent back to Denver, she added, suggesting Walz was helping her obtain a visa.

“The lack of character of a man, a responsible person who worked in education or (in) the military,” she added. “I thought he loved me too. I loved him.

The affair occurred while Walz was studying in Foshan.

Daily Mail. first reported regarding the allegations by Wang, who stated that just a few years after her ill-fated affair with Walz, she fled China for Italy.

According to the open letter, which Wang also used to warn the American electorate about Walz, in the beginning they were “like husband and wife” – drinking tea and holding hands in secret from the watchful eye of her father, Bin Hui, a trade union leader in her hometown of Guilin .

Wang told The Post that Hui would be upset if he saw his daughter fall in love with a Westerner.

Walz, now 60, came to China through the nonprofit WorldTeach and the two connected while Wang taught at a nearby middle school.

The young lovers enjoyed karaoke together, and Walz showered Wang with gifts, including gold jewelry and high-waisted blue jeans.

But then he became “the type of man a mother warns her daughter not to associate with,” Wang adds in the open letter.

“While it is true that you did not promise marriage before returning to China, I assumed marriage,” she wrote. “You also talked me into marriage, and you also talked others into it, including that friend of yours we were drinking tea with.”

According to Wang, there was no difference of opinion between them as to whether she truly loved Walz or just wanted to get a visa, which she said was a “shock” because she was willing to give up her entire life in China to join Walz in his home state of Nebraska.

“I gave up being with Tim, getting married and having a family,” Wang told the Daily Mail.

“Knowing now that he wasn’t going to marry me made me feel cheap and common, like I was being treated like a prostitute.”

They never met again, but Walz returned to China in 1993 as head of an annual summer student program connecting high school students from Nebraska and Minnesota with Chinese institutions.

According to Wang, there was no disagreement between them as to whether she really loved Walz or just wanted to get a visa, which she said was a “shock”.

The future governor of the Land of 10,000 Lakes married his wife Gwen Whipple a year later, after returning to the US.

The wedding took place on June 4, the fifth anniversary of the Tiananmen Square massacre, so the Walzes could “have a date he would remember forever,” his wife later recalled.

“Tim lied about Tiananmen Square and lied about other things,” Wang told the Daily Mail.

“This is a very pivotal moment in history and such a man seems to lack the character and integrity to do one of the most important jobs in the world.”

Representatives for the Harris-Walz campaign did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
