An elderly couple died in an accident in a house fire, and a teenager was seriously injured

The deceased couple has been identified as Heera Mohan Lal and Usha Rani.

Police said cooking oil in a frying pan overheated in the kitchen on the first floor of the building, which led to the fire spreading throughout the house.

Several Diwali crackers kept at the residence also exploded due to the fire. Apart from the elderly couple, a 15-year-old girl, Shruti, who was also in the house, sustained serious injuries. She was shifted to a private hospital for treatment, where she is currently fighting for her life, police said.
