Ric Flair pays tribute to his deceased stepson

Ric Flair paid a heartfelt tribute to his stepson Sebastian Kidder following his suicide and extended support to his estranged wife, Wendy Barlow.

Following his death, Ric Flair paid tribute to his “multi-talented” stepson Sebastian Kidder.

The WWE legend sent a heartfelt message to his estranged wife Wendy Barlow and her former partner Paul Kidder following the musician’s suicide over the weekend, and urged them to learn from the death of their own son Reid in 2013 and not “blame” themselves for the tragedy .

Ric wrote on X along with a photo of himself and Sebastian: “I spent hours thinking about what to say. After hearing the news of Sebastian’s death, I can only imagine what Wendy and Paul are going through after losing their son around the same age in 2013.

“I know that the pain of loss will accompany you for the rest of your life.

“I still think about Reid every day, just like you will still think about Sebastian.

“You can’t blame yourselves like I blamed myself for making Reid my best friend instead of being a good parent. Sometimes we are so close to our children that we forget that they need us in so many different ways.”

The 75-year-old star, who was placed in an induced coma for 11 days in 2017 after being diagnosed with early stages of kidney failure and congestive heart failure caused by years of alcohol abuse, reflected on the “great memories” he had with the “selfless” Sebastian and praised the young musician as a “huge success”.

He continued: “I am very grateful for the time I spent with Sebastian. I have so many great memories and moments with him growing up! He stood by his mother’s side along with his entire family – Sophia, Paris and Summer as I died.

“He was so selfless in sharing his mother with me as I lay dying. And also after my son Reid died.

“He was multi-talented, which meant a huge success in everyone’s eyes and that’s how we will always remember him. I’m so sorry!

“Wendy, please stay strong and don’t let anything stop you from all the successful endeavors you have in your future. God bless you both! Rest in peace Sebastian! (sic)”

Wendy confirmed the tragic news to TMZ on Sunday (10/27/24).

She said: “I am devastated and shocked. This is an epidemic affecting your young men and mental health.”

According to the portal, the police are investigating Sebastian’s death as a result of a gunshot wound in the family home in Georgia.
