Bleacher Report brings you the latest news from the WWE Universe.

The Rock’s status reportedly went up in the air during WrestleMania 41

Amid rumors and speculation about The Rock’s status for next year’s WrestleMania 41, it is not yet known in WWE whether he will be available at the event.

According to Brave (time Steve Carrier from Ringside News), WWE sources have not received “any specific information” on whether The Rock will be a part of WrestleMania, but it has not been ruled out.

Sources noted that long-term planning for The Rock is difficult due to how busy he is, adding that if he decides to make a WWE appearance soon, there will be no stopping him.

After participating in the main event of the first night of WrestleMania 40 earlier this year, The Rock faced Cody Rhodes on the post-WrestleMania Raw. He then disappeared from WWE programming for several months before returning earlier this month.

After Rhodes and Roman Reigns defeated Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu in a tag team match at Bad Blood, The Rock made a surprise return. He didn’t cut a promo or get physically involved, but he did signal “1, 2, 3” with his hands before making a cut-throat move.

This has led many to speculate about a potential future triple threat between The Rock, Rhodes and Reigns, but Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter (time Carrier) later reported that The Rock “gave his word” to WWE that he would not be able to compete at WrestleMania 41.

The Rock, however, seemed to deny the rumor on Instagram, responding to a question about his unavailability at WrestleMania by writing, “Don’t believe any of these b–t.”

While no one seems to really know The Rock’s plans, it’s pretty hard to imagine him missing WrestleMania 41 considering how committed he is to Reigns and Rhodes.

All three of them were a huge part of the build-up to WrestleMania 40, and it would make sense if they all wanted to have the WWE Championship in their possession.

However, if The Rock truly cannot attend WrestleMania, he may have a major match against Rhodes, Reigns, or both at some point before the Showcase of the Immortals.

Goldberg was reportedly not planned as the crown jewel

A fight between World Heavyweight Champion Gunther and WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg may be on WWE’s future plans, but there reportedly won’t be anything concrete in that direction at Crown Jewel this weekend.

According to PWInsider.com Mike JohnsonGoldberg will not be present in Saudi Arabia for the production of Crown Jewel, which means that further development of the story between the two will take place at a later date.

Earlier this month at Bad Blood, Gunther cut a promo and called out Goldberg, who was one of several legends invited to appear on the show. The General of the Ring was critical of Goldberg, even going so far as to suggest that he was not a good father.

This prompted Goldberg to jump over the barrier in an attempt to confront Gunther, but security ultimately broke things up.

Speculation immediately arose regarding a Gunther vs. Goldberg match, and WrestleVotes (h/t Carrier) reported that WWE indeed has plans for Goldberg.

Transfer of the Gunther vs. feud Goldberg taking it to the next level at Crown Jewel would make sense if WWE wanted to move in that direction since Gunther has a big match on the show.

Gunther will face WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in a champion vs. champion match, with the winner becoming the first-ever WWE Crown Jewel Champion.

A Goldberg victory costing Gunther would be the perfect way to set up the match, but with other big events on the horizon like Survivor Series, Royal Rumble and WrestleMania, WWE will have plenty of opportunities to take their rivalry to the next level.

Styles denies the rumors and claims that he rejected the offer to join the TNA HOF

WWE Superstar AJ Styles this week dismissed a report that WWE blocked him from being inducted into the TNA Hall of Fame.

Fighting choice (time Carrier) reported that before deciding to induct Rhino and Bob Ryder into the company’s Hall of Fame during Bound For Glory weekend, TNA discussed the possibility of inducting Monty Brown and Styles.

However, Fightful noted that TNA discussed wanting to induct Styles into the Hall of Fame with WWE before it was rejected.

After the report became public, Styles contacted X to explain what happened, revealing that he was the one who turned down the TNA Hall of Fame offer, not WWE:

AJ Styles @AJStylesOrg

I’m still an active wrestler… I hope so. I made the decision not to enter the TNA HOF, not the WWE. I appreciate TNA, but I don’t want to be in any HOF as long as I stay active. My choice https://t.co/lvXCMG4pki

Styles is a huge part of TNA history and is undoubtedly one of the greatest wrestlers to ever step foot in a TNA ring, but his reason for declining the honor was that he doesn’t want to go into the Hall of Fame until he’s done wrestling.

Phenomenal One’s explanation makes more sense than WWE turning its back on TNA, as the two companies have had a close working relationship in recent months, with TNA wrestlers competing in NXT and vice versa.

Earlier this month, Styles returned to WWE programming and wrestled Carmelo Hayes, but was injured during the match.

It’s unclear when the 47-year-old veteran will be able to return to action, but his comments about the TNA Hall of Fame suggest he still plans to continue moving forward in professional wrestling.
