245 injured victims of the massive July and August uprising received financial aid: Sarjis

Two hundred and forty-five victims of the July-August mass rebellion have so far received financial aid of over Tk 2.41 crore, Sarjis Alam, one of the key coordinators of the Students’ Anti-Discrimination Movement, shared this information in a Facebook post today (29). October).

In July, Shaheed Smrity Foundation donated over Tk 2.41 crore to 245 injured victims who are undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College and Hospital, Combined Military Hospital Dhaka, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University, National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR) , Eye Institute, Trauma Center, CRP Savar and other hospitals, he said.

“Now, transparent verification takes some time, but once the verification is completed, financial assistance will be provided to all affected victims in a phased manner in a very short time.

“We do not want to cast doubt on the number of victims of a mass uprising, just like the lists of freedom fighters. That is why we attach the greatest importance to verification,” he added.

Sarjis further said, “Besides, financial assistance from the July Shaheed Smrita Foundation will be given to the families of 200 martyrs within four days.”
