A 19-year-old man has been charged in the shooting that injured three teenagers near State Fair, a charter school

In connection with this, a 19-year-old man was charged shooting that injured three teenagers in St. Paul in early September.

Musharaf Zainab Arab was charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder and two counts of drive-by shooting.

As we have already informed, officers of St. Paul were called to reports of a shooting near the charter school in the 1000 block of Snelling Avenue North around 10:20 p.m. on September 2.

There they found a teenager shot in the leg. According to the complaint, the teen told police he was walking to his friend’s car in the parking lot when he heard gunshots. He ran to the train tracks to escape the gunfire and realized he had been shot.

Officers found 53 spent shell casings under the Snelling Avenue Bridge and noted there were likely three separate groups of shell casings. There were 20 9mm shell casings in the middle of the road, 16 9mm shell casings near the train tracks, and another group of 17 9mm shell casings on another part of the road. Officers determined that three different types of firearms were used.

They then learned of two more victims – one had been shot in the calf and the other had a gunshot wound that entered the earlobe area and exited the back of the neck.

Court documents show that one of the victims testified that she was in the parking lot when she heard what she thought were fireworks. He thought he was hit by one of them, but he saw blood seeping through his pants and ran away. His cousin took him to the hospital.

The third victim said he was leaving the fair with friends and heading to a friend’s car when he heard more than 10 shots. He realized he had been shot and fell over, and his friend took him to the hospital.

Both vehicles that brought the victims to the hospital had bullet holes in them.

A man who was with one of the victims said he saw muzzle flashes under the Snelling Avenue Bridge.

Surveillance footage shows a park of blue sedans under the Snelling Avenue Bridge with several people getting out. The shooters fired at the victims from the street, and the second shot from the railway tracks.

When the shots were fired, the three victims were seen walking and running together in the parking lot. Surveillance footage shows the shooters got into a vehicle and drove away.

Hours later, Ramsey County deputies responded to a drive-by shooting at a gas station in Little Canada. Surveillance video showed a blue sedan in the area before and after the shooting. Court documents show that five 9mm shell casings and two .40 caliber shell casings were found at the scene.

Investigators determined that the owner of the blue sedan was an Arab, and his cell phone rang in several places where the sedan’s license plate was visible.

Cellphone data placed the Arab at the scene of the shooting on Snelling Avenue and Little Canada. Court documents show the same gun was used in both shootings.
