Two teenagers were killed and three people were injured in a shooting in Union Springs

Two teenagers were killed and three people were injured in a weekend shooting in Union Springs, authorities said Tuesday.

Agents with the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation responded around 3 a.m. Saturday to 300 Waugh Street in Union Springs on a report of a shooting that left multiple people dead.

The SBI is investigating on behalf of the Union Springs Police Department.

Agents said two victims died in the crash: Adrian Tarver Benton, 19, of Auburn, died at the scene, and 19-year-old Union Springs resident David Benton died at a local hospital.

Three other people, who have not been publicly identified, were taken to a local hospital for treatment of unspecified injuries.
