Jewelry theft suspects arrested in connection with follow-away crimes in the Woodland Hills area

The Los Angeles Police Department announced Tuesday that three robbery suspects have been arrested following a series of violent and confrontational attacks in the Woodland Hills area.

Detectives identified 28-year-old Chazon Brown of Los Angeles, 32-year-old Isaiah Moore of Fresno and 19-year-old Nhazel Warren of Los Angeles as responsible for a series of crimes known as follow-away robberies.

According to police, the suspects routinely followed their victims in a black BMW sedan.

Two suspects have been linked to a robbery that occurred on September 19 at 23000 Mulholland Drive in Woodland Hills. Police said the victim was punched and pinned to the ground as the attackers forcibly removed her jewelry.

A similar crime occurred last Wednesday in the 21000 block of Ventura Boulevard, where two passengers in a black vehicle got out armed with handguns and stripped the victim of his jewelry before fleeing the scene.

On Thursday, police served search and arrest warrants on Brown and Moore, recovering two semi-automatic handguns and other items as evidence. Warren was later arrested in Long Beach, but posted bail and was released Tuesday.

The bail amount for each suspect is $1 million. According to police, Warren was wearing a GPS ankle monitor during previous arrests in two unrelated cases in July and August. He also posted bail for those arrests.

“Based on evidence collected in this case, investigators believe these three individuals are common robbery suspects and are responsible for multiple other robberies,” Los Angeles police said in a news release. “Investigators believe there are numerous other victims who have not yet been identified.”
