State police are investigating a fatal crash near LaSalle in Putnam County

PUTNAM/LASALLE COUNTY (25News now) – At least one person is dead after a two-vehicle crash near the Putnam/LaSalle County line.

Illinois State Police said the incident happened just before 3 p.m. Tuesday on Route 18, near County Road 1600 East.

A semi-trailer was involved in the accident.

Route 18 is closed between Route 89 in Magnolia and East 1st Street in Lostant.
