Florida Woman Rescued After Calling 911 to Place a ‘Pizza Order’; video shows the rescue by the Volusia Sheriff’s Office

Officers stopped an alleged attempted sexual assault in Volusia County, Florida, on Oct. 19 after a woman told dispatchers she was in trouble by pretending to order a pizza, according to Sheriff Mike Chitwood.

The Volusia County Sheriff’s Office released portions of the 911 call in a separate video in which the woman can be heard asking to order a pizza.

The dispatcher asked her if she knew he was calling 911 and she replied yes.

According to Chitwood, the sheriff’s office was able to track her cell phone to a field in Pierson, a rural area with many ferns.

“Deputies came out on foot and started searching these ferns. Eventually they heard loud music coming from the field. As they approached the source of the sound, they discovered the male lying on top of the screaming female, Chitwood said.

Bodycam footage of the rescue shows a woman asking for help after crews arrived.

“He’s trying to rape me. Can you help me?” she screams.

Deputies arrested Luis Diego Hernandez-Moncayo on charges of attempted sexual battery, battery by strangulation and false imprisonment, according to the post. He is being held without any bonds.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hernandez-Moncayo was in the country illegally and the U.S. Border Patrol has an immigration detainer with him.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hernandez-Moncayo had applied for asylum the day before the incident.
