A hit and run incident leaves a man seriously injured

Utica, N.Y. – Utica police and fire departments responded to a call of a crash involving a car and a pedestrian early Sunday morning. The accident occurred at the intersection of South St and Genesee St around 2.30am.

After arriving at the scene, rescuers found an injured man lying on the road with numerous injuries. The victim was taken to Wynn Hospital and then transferred to a hospital in Syracuse due to the severity of his injuries. He remains in critical condition; updates on his status will be provided as available.

Utica police are working to identify the suspect and vehicle using surveillance footage. The suspect vehicle is believed to be a red or maroon sedan with front-end damage.
