Boyfriend charged with murder after California woman’s body found in trash bin by landscapers

COSTA MESA, California.AND Costa Mesa According to prosecutors, a man has been charged with the murder of his girlfriend, whom he allegedly strangled and then threw her body into a trash can in Costa Mesa. Orange County District Attorney’s Office.

The suspect, 49-year-old Daniel Allen Aldrich, is charged with one count of murder and one count of criminal enhancement for personal use of a firearm in connection with the Oct. 20 death of 38-year-old Julie Anne Sanetra.

“Julie Sanetra did not deserve to be strangled and stuffed into a garbage can like a piece of trash,” said Orange County District Attorney Todd Spitzer. “The callousness of this crime shocks the conscience and we will do everything to bring justice to Julie and her loved ones.”

The investigation revealed that the couple had an argument after a night of drinking. Authorities said Aldrich allegedly choked Sanetra and then slit her wrist with a folding knife. According to authorities, Aldrich left Sanetra’s body on the couch while watching TV and then went to sleep.

The next day, Aldrich allegedly dragged Sanetra’s body outside and threw it into a trash can on the side of his home. Aldrich then packed a bag and drove to his mother’s house Glendalewhere he was arrested the next day, authorities said.

Gardeners hired to mow the lawn called Costa Mesa police after arriving at the home to find Sanetra’s body partially inside a trash can.

Aldrich faces a maximum of 26 years to life in prison if convicted on all charges. He is being held on $1 million bail.

He set the next hearing date for November 19.
