Kinston man arrested after yesterday’s shooting

KINSTON, N.C. (WITN) – An East Carolina man is behind bars after a shooting in Kinston yesterday.

Kinston police say they were called around 11:45 a.m. Monday after receiving a report of shots fired in the area of North Queen Street and West Daniels Street in Kinston.

After an investigation, police said they had identified Ja’mir Strong as responsible.

A 20-year-old Kinston man has been charged with:

Possession of a firearm by a felon
I am coming with weapons towards the terror of the people
Shooting firearms within city limits

Strong remains in the Lenoir County Jail on bond.
