Browns sign WR Jaelon Darden and place CB Tony Brown II on injured reserve

BEREA, Ohio (WOIO) – The Cleveland Browns have signed WR Jaelon Darden to the active roster from the practice squad and placed CB Tony Brown II on injured reserve with a foot injury.

Additionally, the Browns also signed CB Kahlef Hailassie to the practice squad and released RB Gary Brightwell from the practice squad.

Darden is playing his third NFL season out of North Texas and was selected by Tampa Bay in the fourth round of the 2021 draft. Darden has appeared in 28 career games, including seven with the Browns. He recorded 71 successful punts for a distance of 703 yards (9.9 average) and 27 kicks for a distance of 565 yards (20.9 average).

Brown has appeared in six games this season and recorded five special teams tackles and one forced fumble during the kickoff broadcast.

Hailassie joined the Browns after opting out in 2023 and has made 10 appearances in one game.
