Two people injured in Jones Co. crash

JONES COUNTY, Miss. (WDAM) – Two minors were injured in a car crash in Jones County on Tuesday, October 29.

At approximately 3:48 p.m., the South Jones and Boggy Volunteer Fire Departments responded to a vehicle collision at the intersection of Highway 590 and Pittman Road.

When the first firefighters arrived at the scene, they found a four-door Toyota Camry leaning against a tree by its rear bumper.

Two people traveling in the vehicle were still inside and required help from firefighters.

One person suffered moderate injuries, the other suffered minor injuries.

Emserv Ambulance Service responded and provided assistance to the victims.

Although no one witnessed the incident, residents of a house next to the accident reported hearing the sound of a motorcycle just before the crash.

The Mississippi Highway Patrol will investigate the incident.
