Clementi HDB murder: Accused attacker’s family hires lawyers for him

SINGAPORE: Man accused of murdering a 41-year-old man in the Housing Board block in Clementi hired a team of lawyers.

Toh Chee Hong, who faces death charges for the murder of Mr Khoo Chin Wah Winson on October 21 at Block 311B Clementi Avenue 4, made a brief court appearance on Wednesday (October 30).

Lawyers Josephus Tan of Invictus Law, Cory Wong, Devlin Mohyong and Silas Siew told the court that Toh’s family recently engaged them to defend them.

The prosecutor’s office stated that the investigation had been completed and requested that Toh be remanded in custody for a psychiatric evaluation to see if he suffered from any mental disorders.

The defense did not object.

The matter was adjourned to November 20 for further information.

This development takes two days after police took Toh back to the scene of the alleged crime on Monday morning.
