Charges brought against suspect in officer-involved shooting in Kalihi

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) – Prosecutors have dismissed attempted murder charges against a suspect arrested for officer-involved shooting on Kuhio Park terrace.

Instead, they added additional charges against 47-year-old Blane Apostadiro, including first-degree terroristic threats, reckless endangerment and possession of a firearm.

This all stems from an incident that occurred early Sunday morning when Honolulu police recovered a stolen vehicle on Kuhio Park Terrace.

Police said that was where Apostadiro allegedly shot at two officers as he tried to flee.

The officers returned fire and the suspect was seriously injured.

Apostadiro’s bail has been set at $1 million.
