TfL Oyster photo cards still unavailable after cyber attack

Student card user Stefanie Harman told BBC London she was hit by a cyber attack and was unable to apply for a new photo card.

The 24-year-old, who is studying for a master’s degree, said the situation was costing her an extra £50 a month, although she kept the receipts in case she had to pay it back later.

“What angers me is that there has been almost radio silence on this issue and no alternative has been offered to students,” she said.

“To make things even more irritating, they (TfL) state they may be able to offer a refund, which I find shocking. That should be a guarantee.”

Ms Harman said she found the lack of updates “unacceptable” and that while she could afford to pay for the ticket, “many students can’t do it and it’s priced lower than something so essential, public transport.”
