KANSAS CITY — Law enforcement and school officials are investigating a crash that sent a student to the hospital.

According to a police statement, emergency crews were called to Pleasant Hill Elementary School at 2097 Oak Park Boulevard on Tuesday afternoon after reports of injuries following a crash.

Several students were hit by a falling tree. One student was transported to the hospital, and several others were assessed by EMS and the school’s nursing staff. The school notified parents. The incident is under control and an investigation is ongoing. “Please keep the students and staff in your thoughts and prayers.”

Pleasant Hill is located approximately 35 southeast of Overland Park, Kansas.
