47-year-old woman dies in truck crash as devastated family pays tribute to ‘beautiful, funny daughter’

A WOMAN died in a truck accident as her heartbroken family paid tribute to their “beautiful, funny daughter”.

Clare Laskey, 47, tragically died following a horrific collision near Whiddon Down junction in Cornwall on October 15 at 11.02pm.

The investigation established that the flight attendant and her partner were traveling eastbound in a silver Kia Ceed on the A30 motorway before the collision.

Clare was sitting in the front passenger seat when the tragedy occurred.

Senior coroner Philp Spinney told inquests how their car “potentially hydroplaned” moments before the crash, “resulting in the vehicle flipping on its side.”

The inquest was told how Clare was getting out of her vehicle when it was hit by an articulated Scania lorry.

Clare’s devastated family said: ‘We are devastated by the loss of our beautiful, loyal and funny daughter, partner, sister and aunt in such tragic circumstances.

“She will be sadly missed by all of us, including her friends and the amazing Lizard community. Forever in our hearts.”
