St. officers identified. Paul involved in the Hamline-Midway shooting

The Saint Paul policemen involved in the shooting who hurt A suspected of murder were identified by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety.

State law enforcement officials have identified the following police officers involved in this case shooting: :

  • Officer Blake Steffen, who had four years of law enforcement experience, fired his rifle.
  • Officer Shawn Marlowe, with 10 years of law enforcement experience, fired his rifle.
  • Officer Chase Robinson, with 10 years of law enforcement experience, fired his gun.
  • Sgt. Lamichael Shead, who had eight years of law enforcement experience, fired his gun.
  • Officer Peov Suon, who had three years of law enforcement experience, fired the less lethal 40 mm rounds.
  • Officer Austin Borowicz, with three years of law enforcement experience, fired the less-lethal 40mm rounds.

All officers have been placed on standard administrative leave.

No policemen were injured in the incident.

What we know

Minneapolis police announced Tuesday that a man shot and killed by officers in St. Paul on Monday night is a suspected gunman who shot and killed four people in two separate shootings, including one at a homeless encampment that left two people dead.

On Tuesday, the Minnesota BCA identified the man as Earl Bennett.

Police say the suspect remains in hospital with life-threatening injuries. Minneapolis police are currently working with the Hennepin County Attorney’s Office to bring charges against him.
