After the failure, power was restored in two sulfur schools

SULPHUR, La. (KPLC) – The Calcasieu Parish School Board reports that power has been restored to two Sulphur schools this morning. Both RW Vincent Elementary School and WW Lewis High School experienced power outages in the area this morning.

Spokeswoman Holly Holand says both schools were briefly evacuated.

RW Vincent was evacuated after reports of smoke on campus. Firefighters responded immediately and allowed students and staff to return inside.

W. W. Lewis was also briefly evacuated.

As of 8:15 a.m., Entergy’s website showed an outage affecting approximately 845 customers in the area of ​​Cypress Street and Arizona Street. However, as of 8:25 a.m., the number of outages had been reduced to 143, mostly in the Louisiana Ave. area. and Linda Ave.
