A 29-year-old Jackson man died in a crash in Springport Township

LANSING, Mich. (WILX) – A 29-year-old Jackson man is dead after a single-car crash Thursday morning in Springport Township. According to the Springport Township Police Department, the man was driving east on M-50 near Griffith Rd when he left the roadway and struck a tree. The 29-year-old man, whose identity has not yet been revealed, was alone in the car at the time of the accident.

Police said when they arrived they found the car with significant front-end damage and believe speed was a factor in the crash. M-50 was briefly closed due to the crash, but is now reopened.
