Rapper Lil Durk arrested in South Florida on murder-for-hire charges: Jail records

Chicago rapper Lil Durk, whose real name is Durk Devontay Banks, was arrested in Florida on murder-for-hire charges, according to the Broward County Jail website.

According to jail records, the rapper was arrested Thursday in Broward County and is in custody on murder-for-hire charges. He was issued no bond. Documents show he is also being held in connection with the U.S. Marshals Service.

Several additional details were immediately revealed. FOX 35 News has reached out to the Broward County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service for additional information.

Late Thursday, TMZ reported that five people allegedly associated with Lil Durk’s Only The Family (OTF) collective have been indicted by a grand jury on charges apparently related to the 2022 shooting death of cousin Quando Rondo in Los Angeles. According to media reports, the shooting was allegedly in retaliation for the 2020 shooting and murder of Chicago rapper King Von in Atlanta.

Earlier this month, the mother of FBG Duck, aka Carlton Weekly, who was murdered in August 2020, filed a civil lawsuit against Lil Durk, the city of Chicago and the record company over Weekly’s death FOX 32 Chicago.
