Michael Sheen and David Tennant’s series ends with a 90-minute episode

Good omen will receive a fitting ending, but it will be a shorter-than-expected final season.

The Prime Video series, which was originally scheduled to end with a third and final season, will end with one 90-minute episode. Neil Gaimanwho, along with Terry Pratchett, wrote the book on which the film was based, will not work on the production after sexual assault charges brought against him. He participated in writing the series finale.

Production on the episode is scheduled to begin in early 2025 in Scotland. “It will bring to life an unexpected conversation from almost 35 years ago between the late Sir Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman, during which they outlined what would happen next for the wonderful characters in the world of their best-selling novel,” according to Prime Video.

A series follows Michael Sheenangel Aziraphale i David TennantCrowley’s demon, starting with trying to stop the apocalypse in Season 1. Season 2 ended with the two being separated, with Aziraphale going to Heaven to take up the position of Supreme Archangel, with Crowley declining the offer to go with him and be an angel again. Instead, the demon wanted them to be “us” and they left together, going their separate ways after a heartbreaking kiss.

“One of the amazing things about being a part of (Good omen) is the audience, fans and fandom. You have to take it very seriously because people are really suffering from it.” Sheen told TV Insider in August. “And seeing how people reacted to the end of season two was extraordinary. So yes, I hope and I’m sure that Season 3 will be a rewarding experience for everyone.

Narrativia’s Rob Wilkins, representing Terry Pratchett’s estate, and BBC Studios Productions head of comedy Josh Cole will executive produce. The producers of the new season are Amazon MGM Studios, BBC Studios Productions, Blank Corporation and Narrativia.
