How to solve the keypad code puzzle in the basement of the safehouse in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The keyboard in the basement stands between you and the next puzzle in Black Ops 6. Here’s how to solve it.

This will keep your brain working overtime because finding the solution requires a lot of deduction and there aren’t many clues to draw from. This will help you solve the keyboard puzzle in the basement of the hideout in Black Ops 6.

This is tricky because it’s really based on pure deduction from you as the player, but there will be some clues you can use.

The first thing to know is that you have five guesses; then your code is reset to another random code, so I really have no way of knowing what your answer should be. That said, there are some clues.

Use the black light to look at the keyboard and make sure you use your mouse or right stick to look around. You’ll be able to see fingerprints on some of the keys, which will give you a rough idea of what the numbers might be.

Select the numbers you want, then enter them, and you’ll be told whether the numbers are in the right place (green), in the code but not in the right place (yellow), or not used at all (red).

Red is a little more complicated because the way the puzzle is programmed is a little weird. If you enter a number twice and it is in the code once, then one of the digits will appear in red, which means that that iteration of the number is not used. Remember this for later.

Here are some general tips:

  • Scan the entire keyboard and see which one has a lot of fingerprints
  • Make sure you enter five different numbers at the beginning
  • Enter all remaining numbers and your most likely double number on your second attempt unless you have some greens.
  • Just because there’s a fingerprint on the key doesn’t mean it was definitely in the code, but it’s very likely.
  • As mentioned above, just because a key doesn’t have a fingerprint doesn’t guarantee it isn’t there, but once again it’s a very strong possibility (yes, it’s annoying, I know).
  • Each time you fail five times, your codes and fingerprint placement will be reset; it’s a fresh puzzle every time.
  • The more fingerprints there are on a button, the more likely that number will appear twice in the code.

After that, it’s just trial and error as you try to find the exact combination. I’m afraid there really is no set path to success in this case.
