It only took one distracted driver to cause a nine-car collision on the street Oklahoma State Highway this week shows footage from a dash cam.

According to the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, dash cam video comes from a semi-trailer that was involved in a crash near Oklahoma City.

The video shows a white pickup truck driving into the trailer while trying to avoid hitting the car in front of the truck. The truck did not stop in time to avoid a collision. The pickup truck hit the car in front of it and then hit the passenger side of the semi-truck. He ripped the wheel off the semi, sending it crashing into other cars.

“The white pickup truck struck the SUV from the front and then swerved, striking the semi-trailer and dislodging the passenger side wheel, leaving the semi-truck driver without steering,” the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.

Fortunately, the police took only two people to hospital, whose lives are not in danger. It could have been worse, they warned.

“We need drivers to pay attention and look down when driving,” they said.
