Police: Fulton County man damaged vehicles, property at work and home

A Fulton County man is accused of intentionally crashing his vehicle into another vehicle, pushing it into a building.

State police said Raymond W. Matis, 53, of Saint Johnsville allegedly drove his vehicle into a property in the area of ​​Route 67 in Ephratah just after 8 a.m. Wednesday. According to police, he intentionally hit an empty vehicle in the parking lot, pushing it into a building.

Matis then entered the building and damaged items inside with a stick, the police added.

According to police, the building houses both a business and a home. He is accused of damaging the business part.

Matis knows the owner of the vehicles, but police are not disclosing the relationship to protect the victim’s privacy.

While officers were en route to the scene, Matis allegedly struck another unoccupied vehicle with a bat, causing significant damage.

No one was injured during the incident.

Matis was charged with burglary and three felonies. He was transported to the Fulton County Jail to await arraignment.
