A man has died after being seriously injured in a stabbing in Palmyra

PALMYRA – A man who was seriously injured in a stabbing in Palmyra earlier this month has died, according to officials.

Todd Parsons, 48, died of his injuries on Oct. 18, a week after the stabbing, Shannon Moss, public information officer for the Maine Department of Public Safety, announced Thursday.

Parsons’ body was taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta for an autopsy.

No official cause or manner of death was announced Thursday.

Push at 482 Madawaska Road reported just before 3 a.m. on October 11.

The victim, who was not identified at the time, was taken to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield and then to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was listed in critical condition.

Maine State Police at the time described the stabbing as an “incident” that led to the road closure. The road was closed for much of the day as detectives interviewed people and evidence collection technicians examined the scene.

The stabbing was investigated by the Maine State Police Major Crimes Unit and the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office.
