An 83-year-old woman died in a crash on a New Jersey highway

Authorities announced Friday that a woman died in a crash on a busy highway in Middlesex County last week.

According to a news release from the Monroe Township Police Department, at approximately 3 p.m. on October 18, a 2012 Ford Mustang driven by a 32-year-old Williamstown man was traveling eastbound on US 322-Black Horse Pike towards Forest Drive in Monroe Township. .

At the same time, a 2016 Hyundai Elantra driven by an 83-year-old Williamstown woman was traveling west on the highway approaching the same intersection. She tried to turn left onto Forest Drive, police said.

At the intersection, the Mustang’s front bumper struck the Hyundai on the passenger side, causing significant damage to that side of the car, the department said.

The unidentified female driver of the Hyundai was killed. The driver of the Mustang was not injured. As of Friday, he had not heard any charges.

No other details of the crash were given.
