Hip-hop legend DJ Clark Kent has died, according to his family

Roach DJ Clark Kent information about the deceased appeared on social media earlier this month, but it turned out to be untrue.

However, on Friday (October 25), it was confirmed that the legendary DJ had died on Thursday evening (October 24). Fellow New York hip-hop veteran Eric B. shared the news on Instagram, writing simply, “Rest in peace.” It was also checked by, among others, All HipHop By text message, assuring him that he had received information from Clark Kent’s family.

The family soon released their own statement, writing: “IT IS WITH DEEP DEATH that we share the passing of our beloved RODOLFO A. FRANKLIN, KNOWN TO THE WORLD AS DJ CLARK KENT. CLARK PASSED away on Thursday evening surrounded by his wife, daughter Kesha, Kabriah and son Antonio.”

They then revealed the cause of death: colon cancer.

DJ Clark Kent, born Rodolfo Franklin in Panama, played a significant role in shaping JAY-Z’s career and is routinely credited with discovering the co-founder of Roc-A-Fella. He also produced songs from JAY-Z’s debut album, Reasonable doubts, including the hit “Brooklyn’s Finest” featuring The Notorious B.I.G

DJ Clark Kent was also a well-known figure in sneaker culture and collaborated with brands such as Nike to release exclusive shoes.

Rumors of his death began to appear prematurely on October 16. EPMD’s DJ Scratch quickly cleaned up the damage on Instagram, writing in all caps: “DJ CLARK KENT IS NOT DEAD. STOP TRAUMATISING HIS FAMILY BY POSTING HE PASSED!!”

Radio host Angie Martinez echoed these sentiments, adding: “The article that The Source Mag and others published about the death of DJ Clark Kent is false. Clark is at home with his family. Please do not share any other false information. “It’s painful, deeply irresponsible and untrue.”

Unfortunately for DJ Clark Kent’s loved ones, this time it’s true. All HipHop sends our condolences.

This is a developing story.
