In a shocking case, a 16-year-old girl from Uttar Pradesh was allegedly repeatedly raped by her father, news agency PTI reported, citing police officials. According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sagar Jain, the victim’s mother died a decade ago, leaving her vulnerable to alleged abuse.

This week, a brave teenager plucked up the courage to report the horrific crime to police, detailing the terrifying experiences she endured at the hands of her father. She revealed that whenever she protested or resisted, her father would brutally beat her. Even though her family members were informed about the incident and despite the Panchayat’s warning to her father, the alleged abuse continued.

Based on her complaint, an FIR was registered and the victim was sent for medical examination. The accused father has been arrested and further investigation is underway, Superintendent Jain confirmed

Horror in Madhya Pradesh

In a separate incident, eight men were arrested in connection with gang rape in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh – five alleged rapists and three men who filmed the attack. The victims, newlyweds in their 20s, reported the incident to the Gurh police station. The police arrested the accused.

The woman alleged that five men took turns raping her near the fountain, the DSP said, adding that the accused also recorded a video of the act.

One of the five arrested accused, whose identity is yet to be revealed, told the police that eight of them went to Bhairawa Baba and some of them smoked marijuana and forced others to do the same. “We have lost our minds. One of the group members saw a couple sitting on a hill. We went there… five or six of us raped this woman. They also beat the man and then tied him to a tree,” the investigator quoted the accused as saying.

Opposition Congress claims that the police concealed this case for four days, while a regional industry conclave was taking place in Rewa.
