India handed over the body of a man from Bangladesh

Indian police today (October 26) handed over the body of a Bangladeshi citizen who died in the territory of the neighboring country to the Bangladesh police.

The deceased Bangladeshi has been identified as Md Rizaul Karim, son of Abdus Sattar of Alinapara village in Sherpur Sadar upazila of Sherpur district, Sherpur Sadar police confirmed.

Rezaul’s body was handed over to Bangladesh Police today at 1 p.m. in the presence of members of Bangladesh Border Guard (BGB) and Border Security Force (BSF) through Netrokona District Police through Bagmara LC of 200 BSF Battalion opposite Bijoypur BOP under Netrokona Battalion ( 31 BGB).

Rezaul’s family members identified his body.

Commanding Officer (CO) of Netrokona Battalion (31 BGB) Lt. Col. ASM Quamruzzaman confirmed the matter to the BSS.

A BGB press release said, citing BSF sources, that seven Bangladeshi nationals had crossed into India around 100-150 meters away from the barbed wire near the border pillar 1138/4-S in Digalbagh area of ​​Dhobaura upazila of Mymensingh under the jurisdiction of Munshipara. BOP under the Netrokona battalion (31 BGB) on the evening of October 24.

While BSF members patrolling Damdama camp from 181 BSF Battalion challenged them, six of them managed to escape, but one fell from a culvert there, suffered head injuries, lost consciousness and drowned in the water of the culvert, the release said.

BSF members immediately rescued him and took him to a local primary health care center, where he died on October 24, it said.

The autopsy of the deceased has been completed in India.
