A Bucks County McDonald’s disabled Yelp reviews after being bombarded with politicized comments in response to a visit, She reported to CBS. Yelp placed an “unusual activity warning” on the McDonald’s location and decided to block any new reviews on its Yelp page to ensure user comments reflect “authentic, first-hand experiences” with the location, CBS told MoneyWatch. However, before the restrictive comments, about 145 new reviews had already been posted on Yelp.

“When we notice activity dropping dramatically or stopping, our moderators clean up the page to include reviews that only describe consumers’ first-hand experiences,” Yelp told CBS.

“As a small, independent business owner, a core value of my organization is that we proudly open our doors to anyone who visits the Feasterville community,” said owner and operator Derek Giacomantonio. “That’s why I accepted former President Trump’s request to observe a transformational work experience that 1 in 8 Americans had: working at McDonald’s.”

“As a former crew member, I can attest that this job is more than just hamburgers and fries, but a significant path to new opportunities,” added Giacomantonio. “Local Pennsylvania franchisees like me are proud to support over 25,000 jobs across the state, and I’m honored to showcase my restaurant and the incredible impact of the franchise business model today.”

Visit received particular attention because Vice President Kamala Harris stated that she worked at McDonald’s during her undergraduate studies in the 1980s. Trump has repeatedly claimed that Harris is lying about working in the fast food industry.

“I work 15 minutes more than Kamala at McDonald’s right now,” Trump said through a drive-thru window while handing out orders.

“I really wanted to do this my whole life. And now I will do it because she didn’t do it,” he added.

“She shouldn’t have lied about it,” Trump said. “McDonald’s has confirmed four times that she has never worked here. But let’s not talk about that. It’s an amazing business. It’s an amazing country. And we will make America greater than ever before.”

Harris did not provide proof that she worked there, but McDonald’s said it had no employment records going back that far. The Harris-Walz campaign also rejected Trump’s claims.

“Vice President Harris and I grew up middle class, we understand that. She actually worked at McDonald’s,” Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz said on “The View.”

Trump’s critics have also slammed online attempts to downplay the McDonald’s visit as “staged,” while Trump supporters have highlighted the apparent security measures taken against the former president, who had a history of multiple assassination attempts.
