Youth and woman found dead on railway bridge in Chhatarpur

Chhatarpur (Madhya Pradesh): Police said the bodies of a young man and a woman were found on a railway bridge over the Dhasan river near Chapran village in Harpalpur police station area of ​​Chhatarpur on Saturday.

Police suspect that both of them committed suicide by jumping off the moving Chambal Express train. After the discovery, the police launched an investigation.

The man has been identified as Sanjeev Ahirwar, a resident of Jhakri village in Mauranipur police station limits of Uttar Pradesh, though the woman’s identity is still unknown. Authorities are actively working to determine her origins.

The discovery occurred on Saturday around 11 a.m., when a railway worker found the body of a man wedged between the bridge pillars and the body of a woman floating in the river.

The woman is believed to have drowned, while the man probably died after being hit by an iron pole. Harpalpur police station TI Pushpak Sharma told the media that no suicide note or mobile phones were recovered from the spot and only Aadhaar and PAN cards helped identify the man. The investigation continues and all possible angles are being explored, he added. The bodies have been recovered and sent for autopsy, with further details to be released as the investigation progresses.
