Motorcyclist ejected in accident, sustains serious injuries: FHP

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. – A Zephyrhills motorcyclist was seriously injured Saturday after being thrown off his bike in Pasco County, authorities said.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, a Jeep Renegade driven by a 37-year-old Fort Myers man was traveling westbound on Blanton Road around 9:48 a.m.

The 34-year-old driver was riding a Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on Blanton Road.
The report shows that just east of the Interstate 75 overpass, the driver of a Jeep tried to make a U-turn and drove into the path of a motorcycle.

The motorcyclist then hit the Jeep and was ejected. He was taken to a local hospital with serious injuries.

The Jeep driver and passengers in the SUV were not injured.
