Leverett crew responds to car fire

LEVERETT, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) – Crews in Leverett responded to a car fire Friday evening.

According to the Leverett Fire Department, firefighters were dispatched to the scene on Cushman Road for a report of a car fire at approximately 9:29 p.m.

After the crews arrived at the scene, they managed to quickly extinguish the flames, with limited reach in the grass.

Officials also said they also received assistance from the Amherst Fire Department due to their proximity to the forest and drought conditions.

No injuries reported.
