17-year-old girl jumped to her death in Jamia Nagar after she failed to clear IIT-JEE

In a shocking incident, a 17-year-old girl preparing for the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) allegedly died by suicide after jumping from a residential building in Delhi’s Jamia Nagar area as she failed to clear the national entrance exam for top jobs. According to reports, a class 12 student left a letter farewell letter in which she asked her parents to forgive her for not being able to crack JEE. The note said, “I’m sorry I couldn’t do it.” According to our information, the incident took place on Friday.

“Yesterday at 11.25 am, a PCR report was received at Jamia Nagar Police Station regarding a 17-year-old girl jumping from the roof of the 7th floor of a building at Okhla Central Market. She was preparing for JEE after passing class 12th. She left a suicide note, citing the pressure of studies and failure to meet expectations as the reason. A case under 194 BNSS is underway,” Delhi Police said.

An alleged video of the incident surfaced on social media, showing the heartbreaking moment the girl fell to the ground while a man standing nearby was talking on the phone. As soon as she fell to the ground, spectators rushed to help her.

Local residents, clearly distressed by the tragedy, reported that the girl was struggling emotionally following her failure to clear the highly competitive Joint Entrance Examination (JEE).

The incident came four days after a second-year master’s student from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Delhi allegedly committed suicide on Tuesday evening. According to police, the student had visited the IIT hospital earlier in the day and was undergoing psychiatric treatment.
