Saints vs. Chargers Top touchdown scorers at any point in NFL Week 8 (bet this R

The New Orleans Saints have lost five straight games and are already far out of the NFC playoff race, heading into a Week 8 showdown with the 3-3 Los Angeles Chargers.

Both teams played in prime time in Week 7. The Saints lost badly to Denver on Thursday night, and the Chargers lost on a last-second field goal against Arizona on Monday night.

One of these teams will emerge victorious, and there are many ways to bet on this interconference matchup.

My focus is on the market for touchdown scorers at any point in Sunday’s matchup, especially when it comes to Chargers rookie Ladd McConkey.

Let’s break down our three picks for the Saints-Chargers Week 8 clash.

DraftKings Sportsbook Odds.

Ladd McConkey TD anytime (+165)

Rookie Ladd McConkey didn’t find the end zone in Week 7, but he scored two touchdowns in six games for the Chargers, catching 24 of his 39 targets.

McConkey has been targeted 15 times over the past two weeks and has seen at least six targets in five of his six games. That’s solid for a young player, and now he has to deal with a weak Saints defense that ranks last in the NFL in yards allowed per play.

Considering McConkey will become the Chargers’ top option in the passing game, it’s worth betting on him in Week 8.

JK Dobbins Anytime TD (-125)

This is the most important matchup for JK Dobbins after the Saints allowed 88 rushing yards and two rushing touchdowns to Denver Broncos receiver Javonte Williams in Week 7.

For the season, the Saints allowed 5.4 yards per carry – worst in the NFL – and nine rushing touchdowns (third-most in the league).

Dobbins has found the end zone in three of five contests this season, and I expect him to have a big day on Sunday.

Alvin Kamara Anytime TD (+125)

The Saints offense is in a state of flux right now after Derek Carr hit, so the only player I trust in this market is quarterback Alvin Kamara.

Kamara had just 13 touches for 24 yards in Week 7, but he should find some more room to run against a Chargers defense that is allowing 4.6 yards per carry on the season.

Kamara scored seven points in seven games, finding the end zone in four contests. He’s a solid candidate to bounce back in Week 8.
