Three people injured in a house fire in Yates County where the house was deemed uninhabitable

Dresden, New York – Multiple people were injured in a house fire in Yates County late Friday evening.

At approximately 1:26 a.m., deputies and fire crews responded to a report of a porch fire on Main Street near Charles Street.

At the scene, officers found many people who had been injured while escaping from the fire.

A woman with burns to her body was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital, and two other people with lacerations were transported to Strong Memorial Hospital and Geneva General Hospital.

The house was deemed uninhabitable.

An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the fire.
